A widely acclaimed monument
Apollo House was designed by Dutch architect Dirk Roosenburg and built between 1937 and 1939. Originally, it served as the headquarters of the Rijksverzekeringsbank, the Dutch national insurance bank. Apollo House became famous for its innovative steel construction, which was unique in the Netherlands at the time. Its clean lines and functional design reflect the modern architectural ideas of the 1930s.
